Goals and Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to:
- Classify asthma patients into severity and control categories according to 2007 National Asthma Education and Prevention Program guidelines.
- Differentiate the domains of impairment and risk.
- Contrast the roles of peak flow measurement and spirometry as components of asthma control.
- Discuss the value of standardized questionnaires in assessing asthma impairment.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for Respiratory Therapists, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and other Allied Health professionals interested in the treatment of asthma.
